1. What different types of needs can MISs and DSSs fulfill in Whitmann Prices’s new system?
WPC is composed of six consulting areas: Audit and Assurance, Crisis Management, Human Resources, Performance Improvement, Tax, and Transaction. These six components have few common needs:
Personal information management system
It refers to a IS that provides software for keeping track of appointments and contact information for customers and colleagues. Storage and access of the information can be done in a database through the MIS.
The Calendar MIS
It is used to run queries on data and present reports that show monthly, weekly, daily, or hourly schedules for one or more consultants. Everyone can edit or add appointments after looking at the time when everyone concerned is available. This helps to save time and effort for everyone.
The Contacts MIS
All clients and consultants information can be found in this system. And it will be visible to everyone as well as to add notes. Also, reports about a single or group of clients can be generated.
The consultant can access bills of clients using this MIS and add hours to the bill. This will help to generate a common bill that can save time. The MIS can interact with the calendar and the contact MIS.
