Chapter II
Importance of Admission Management System
1. Online University Admission System
Student admissions are a vital part of any university’s running because students are what keep a University alive. The student admission is one of the most important activities within a university as one cannot survive without students. A poor admissions system can mean fewer students being admitted into a university because of mistakes or an overly slow response time. 2. Integrating Web Services into a web-based College Admission Portal System As stated, the technologies of Web services have the characteristics of supporting communication between “loosely-coupled” systems. The two participating systems do not need to be running on the same platform, using the same OSs, etc. This ensures system interoperability, which is very important in this project since each college may build its own transcript Web service System. 3. International School of informatics and Management, Student Admission System The present system is manual all the work is done in papers and ink by hand so it is much costly and difficult to use and to operate and it is also time consuming. So our automated computerized student admission system is much feasible, in cost, time, and efforts as compare to the previous manual system. It is economically feasible, it will only require a single operator to operate the system, who is responsible for entering the data into the database via a user interface provided to him, who can also able to show all the data in html tabular form so to provide information regarding the students who are either taken admission or to take admission, since it requires only a single person to operate the whole system thus reduces the cost to operate the system. 4. Technology in the College Admission Process: Impact on Process, Professionals and Institutions Admission processes generate an enormous amount of data, and data handling includes matching academic credentials with thousands of items flowing in daily. Admission professionals stressed the need for quality control checkpoints throughout the process, including the maintenance of a consistent/contiguous process following system upgrades. Overall, the admission officers were concerned with establishing, maintaining and sustaining (over the long term) a pace of technology incorporation to “be able to keep up with them (students). 5. The importance of management information systems
The attempts have been made to examine the MIS, its problems and importance in an organizational setting. One may conclude that MIS is the lifeblood of an organization. Both public and private sectors must be committed to seeking formal or organized information before taking decisions. Management problems will be provided with specific answers through computer simulations and gaming techniques.
